A native of Weston, CT, Lauren Roth recently joined our team as Senior Manager of Planning & Measurement. To get to know her better, read along in this edition of the Employee Spotlight.
Who is your inspiration?
My mom. However cliché that may be, she not only shaped me into the person I am today, but is still a model for who I want to become. She gives selflessly, works tirelessly, and loves endlessly. I can only hope that my kids will look at me the same way!
If you knew me, you'd know that...
My favorite foods are pickles, dim sum, and good pizza -- not together. Shoes make me happy. I'm a fierce supporter of the Michigan State Spartans. I love challenging myself to learn new things.
Are you involved with any non-profit organizations?
The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is a wonderful organization that helps fund research, as well as care and support for those affected. CF has impacted my family, and while it used to just be considered a childhood disease based on the short life expectancy, funding has helped to extend people's life span. I hope to see a future that has a cure!
Where do you want to travel, but have never been before?
I have big travel ideas, but have to find the time to do it! Barcelona, Scotland, and London are on the list for the food, wine, and rich history. I also wouldn't mind throwing in a nice trip to Turks and Caicos to relax a bit!
What's the last book you read?
"Three Sisters, Three Queens" by Philippa Gregory. I typically love reading historical fiction or non-fiction, which is completely different from my taste in movies -- sci-fi and action (not horror).
