Warriors for a Cure Raise $143,347 for Alex’s Lemonade Stand

September is National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

That may mean a day-long fundraiser or a one-time donation for some charitable organizations, but for the Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, September 1st marks the beginning of “Alex’s Million Mile,” an annual initiative in which the foundation’s affiliated teams from around the country attempt to run, walk, and ride a collective total of one million miles to raise awareness and funds for pediatric cancer research.

As is the case every year, Inspira paired up with friends and family members from Fairfield County, as well as Norwalk-based LogicSource, to form the Warriors for a Cure team. Throughout the month of September, the team was able to log 26,760 miles, representing the sixth-highest mileage total of all participating teams.

As the top fundraisers since the Million Mile’s inception in 2013, the team always aims to keep that title. And, thanks to the generosity of team members, as well as a three-day donation match period from friends at Volvo, the Warriors for a Cure were able to do just that. Every cent of the $143,347 raised by the team will go directly to fund pediatric cancer research.

Well done, team!
